Visas to the U.S.
The US Consular Agency in Victoria does not handle visa issues. Please contact the U.S. Embassy in Port Louis, Mauritius for information.
Prospective travelers to the United States are requested to apply for U.S. visas prior to their visit to the U.S. For details on how to apply for a U.S. visa, please click here.
Non-immigrant visas for the United States for citizens and residents of Seychelles are processed at the Embassy in Port Louis, Mauritius. Visa applicants need to travel to Mauritius to submit their applications and have their interview with the Consular Officer. Please plan your travel so that you are able to submit your visa application during our opening hours, which are Mondays and Thursdays between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. (We do not open on Mauritian or American public holidays.) In most cases, interviews are held on the same day. Exceptions can be made for Seychelles applicants arriving outside this time period. Please contact the Consular Section for information.
The visa application fee needs to be paid, prior to submission of the application, in cash in Mauritian rupees at the Mauritius Commercial Bank situated at the corners of Edith Cavell and John Kennedy Streets in Port Louis. The bank is a three minute walk from the Embassy.
To better serve the needs of non-immigrant visa applicants, we have instituted an online visa appointment service. Appointments are MANDATORY for all visa applicants. Once you have completed your on-line application form, you will be directed to the appointment system. Each applicant over the age of 13 should make a separate appointment, even if you are traveling together. At the time of your appointment, you will submit your printed visa application, passport, photos, receipt, and any other required documentation, then be interviewed shortly thereafter. Generally, successful applicants will receive their passports by courier the next business day.
Please click here for Visa Appointments.
The Embassy strongly encourages intending travelers to apply for visas well in advance of their proposed journey, and to always refrain from making irrevocable travel plans until the visa has been issued and they are in receipt of their passport and visa. Generally, applicants may wish to schedule their visa appointments at least one month in advance of their proposed travel to the United States.

Please check the Embassy website for any temporary closure of the Consular Section, other than the holidays mentioned above before traveling to Mauritius.
