Renovation Project by the Government of the United States of America
on Praslin Island

The Government of the United States of America and the Government of Seychelles announce a renovation project at the Baie St. Anne Community Center on Praslin Island scheduled on July 28, 2007. The project is funded through the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), and is being done in coordination with the District Administrator, Margaret Rose, and the Seychelles National Youth Council.
The Community Center provides service to approximately two-hundred people daily. The playground equipment at the site will be painted with assistance from approximately thirty Seychellois youth of Praslin. The participants in the projects will be given T-shirts to commemorate the event.
CJTF-HOA will also furnish playground equipment to several schools on Praslin such as Anse Kerlan, Grand Anse Creche and Anse La Blague.
The Government of the United States, led by the CJTF-HOA, and the Government of Seychelles have collaborated on several civic action projects on the islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. The projects highlight the strong partnership that exists between the people of the United States and the Seychelles, and is part of the ongoing U.S. commitment to assist Seychellois and improve infrastructure in the Seychelles.
