The 2006 U.S. Embassy Democracy And Human Rights Fund Rogram

The United States Embassy invites Project proposals from the Seychelles for the 2006 Democracy and Human Rights Fund (DHRF) Program. 

The DHRF grants, usually between Rs 40,000 – Rs 75,000, provide funding to small, short-term, and high-impact activities that support democratic institutions, political pluralism, and the protection and advocacy of human rights.  Activities should be completed and all funds expended within one year from the date of signing the DHRF agreement.  

What type of activities can be funded under DHRF Program?

  • Human Rights
  • Legal
  • Judicial
  • Legislative
  • Civic Education
  • Women and Children’s Rights
  • Electoral
  • HIV/AIDS Prevention
  • Conflict Resolution

Who is eligible?

Any non-governmental organization or governmental democratic institutions promoting democracy, good governance, transparency, or any of the above-mentioned activities may apply.

The Project proposals should include the following details: 

  • Description of activity
  • Objectives
  • Beneficiaries
  • Budget estimate

Proposals should be submitted to the U.S. Consular Agency, Oliaji Trade Center, Suite 23, Victoria, Mahé, Seychelles, telephone: 22-52-56.

The deadline for the submission of the project proposal is May 15, 2006.
