The Government of the United States of America Donates Orthopedic Supplies to Victoria Hospital in Seychelles
February 28, 2008
The Government of the United States of America will donate orthopedic supplies to the Physiotherapy Department at the Victoria Hospital at a ceremony scheduled on March 4, 2008. The project is funded by the United States government through the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA).
The donation follows a visit paid by Admiral Hart to Victoria Hospital in May 2007, during which he saw the need for orthopedic supplies. The items were received from the Global Operations and Development Organization, which is a charity organization headquartered in the U.S. state of California. The equipment was transported by the U.S. military from Kuwait to Seychelles.
The donations will be presented to Ms. Patricia Rene and/or Dr. Danny Louange by representatives of CJTF-HOA.
The Government of the United States and the Government of Seychelles have collaborated on many civic action projects on the islands of Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. The projects highlight the strong partnership that exists between the people of the United States and the Seychelles, and is part of the ongoing U.S. commitment to assist Seychellois and improve infrastructure in the Seychelles.
